Modern music (rock etc.) is popular because modern musicians are popular. We know a lot about their life, pets, girlfriends/boyfriends, habits, etc.
But we don't know a lot about modern violinists. Maybe we should start to do smth to promote them?
Agree with Kyle Johnson. Useful way is to post kind of long-read story about every artist-player member of Violin Festival
Thank you Olga. But I think it doesn't matter if violinist belongs to VF somehow. It is important to make violinists idols to wide crowd. It will help to increase general interest to violin music. And as I understand the VF is the global ambassador of violin music.
Yes, of course, you need as many different versions of the popularization of violin classical music. For example, such an interesting fact - the world's first broadcast consisted of reading the bible and performing violin classical music. This fact can be used as a theme for a flash mob on an international radio day, for example.
I think that Kyle means that we need to inform the public abour a lot of details of private life of the violinists: about their hobbies, girlfriends/boyfriends, new cars/villas, etc. It could attract more attention but my concern is if the violinists are ready to such a new role.
Classic music TOP-persons I am afraid are more "closed" for sharing private life details (comparing to pop-music stars).
but they can earn more money if they are more open for the public
From advertising, sponsors, etc.
If they want to become millionaires...
But we need to show that it helps to become millionaires
We need to find a young but already famous violinist for this. Maybe amongst the Weniavsky competition winners?
